around Long Island and parts of NYC

Miles & Marley were not together while visiting this state

but Miles wanted to include it as part of his adventures. 

LONG ISLAND AQUARIUM 

& EXHIBITION CENTER

Miles & his cousin had a great time

and sea turtles

OLD FIELD POINT LIGHTHOUSE

We "discovered" this landmark by accident 

what a wonderful view

WOW….look how long it's been around

WHITE POST FARMS

Miles & his friend had fun feeding the animals

FIRE ISLAND NATIONAL SEASHORE

We decided to explore the park and beach

Miles spotted plenty of wildlife

and really liked the lighthouse

FORT HAMILTON

A trip into the city is not complete for us 

without visiting the base

FORT TOTTEN

My husband's unit had Family Day activities here

so we took time to explore the area

The turtles were enjoying the nice day

as were the geese

Miles really liked walking out on the rock jetty

guess he should've brought a fishing pole

FORT WADSWORTH

This was an amazing piece of history

look another lighthouse

It was pretty cool to walk around and see 

history "come alive"

Even with the modern world all around

it was easy to imagine how things used to be

Miles was excited to spot the Statue of Liberty

EMPIRE STATE BUILDING

The elevator ride was quite an experience

and the view was awesome

I must admit it was rather COOL….

being W-A-Y up high

for dessert Miles liked Ralph's Famous Italian Ices

We had never tried Carvel & were told this was a must

Miles really liked this ice cream cake

We enjoyed our time sightseeing and 

Miles can't wait to go back and have pizza----I mean visit :)

7th Grade
1st day of school

we celebrated the day 

at Miles' favorite place

 Mellow Mushroom

for GFCF pizza

The boys had a tiring but amazing 1st day 

He made the A/B honor roll twice this year

Beyblade club was his favorite day of the month

For "Historween" Miles showed 

 respect to Medal of Honor Recipients.

He spoke to his class about 

Michael P. Murphy

which you can discover more for yourself at

 The National Navy UDT-SEAL Museum

           

Miles had to do a project about the State of Colorado

and gave out tasty treats of Huckleberry Licorice & Taffy

The boys went on a class field trip to 

Sweetwater Organic Farm

Marley had fun checking out all of the animals

The kids were given organic tomatoes to grow at home

and it looks like Miles has a green thumb…..

What's better than free dress on the last day of school?

SUMMER break of course :)

Both boys received awards:

Miles for being a History Buff

& Marley for being Mr. Cooperative

We celebrated their last day of school 

with supper at Mellow Mushroom

The boys are excited to have a bit of a break 

before 8th grade begins


8th Grade

1st day of school 

we had supper at Miles' 

new favorite place Ciccio's 

He also got dessert from Moreno Bakery

he really likes their dairy free cookies

Miles had to give a presentation

on the kind of gear needed for survival 

when Soldiers are in the field training

 For "Historween" this year
he dressed up as a Soldier

Miles & Marley
received good conduct awards
from the Principal

 There was a Turkey Trot fundraiser

where they had a lot of fun getting to run

and go through the obstacle course

They also had a field trip to Finance Park

where Miles learned all about Budgeting

Miles played Basketball  

for the 1st time this year

& was Co-Captain of the team

Marley cheered him on from the sidelines

as did his friends from church

Miles had an AWESOME Coach
& had fun learning to play

Celebrated 1st day of school with supper

at Taste of Berlin German restaurant 

He had fun playing basketball this year

We celebrated the last game 

with supper at

Sabor A Mexico restaurant

and a relaxing night
watching tv together
